What it means to me

What being a Christian means to me

On these pages, some people from All Saints’ share what being a Christian means to them.

Jo Lovell

In the years I have been a Christian I’ve been on a journey that as been exciting, stimulating, anything but boring.

I am not saying my walk with Jesus has always been fun or without setbacks, heartaches and tears, yet I can honestly say Jesus has made my life worth living and brought a new dimension into my life that is not available through anything the world can offer.

What, you may be wondering have I learnt these past 27 years about Jesus?

He has taught me:

  • How much He loves me no matter what I do

  • Jesus never rejects me

  • Jesus wants to be my friend

  • He keeps His promises

  • Life is full of colour and adventure with Him

  • With Jesus the best is yet to be

  • With Jesus I can face all my fears

  • Jesus is more interested in my wholeness and maturity than in my happiness

  • Jesus knows better than me what is best for my family and friends

  • You cannot out give God

I could go on and on because I know how awful my life would have been without Jesus.

In saying ‘yes’ to Jesus, my life is really worth living and each day is a fabulous gift from God that He wants me to live to the full.

Thank you Jesus.
