Easter Greetings from Sarah CassonWorking with SIL in Arua, Uganda. Last week was the culmination of two years of painstaking work for six Congolese translation teams. We were able to print out a trial edition of Genesis in all six languages: Kibudu, Kifuliiru, Kilika, Kikomo, Chitembo and Omiti. As each set of books came back from the print shop, we felt like proud parents admiring a new born baby after a long, hard labour. Our closing ceremony was full of songs, dancing, laughter and, of course, a heady mix of different languages. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement throughout this long process.
This is just the beginning. Now the real work begins as the copies are taken back to the churches in DRC and people begin to use them. What a fantastic Easter gift for these different language communities, as we celebrate the blessing that has come to all the nations through Jesus' death and resurrection (see Genesis 12:3).
Admiring Budu Genesis It's hard to believe that in less than three weeks I will be back in the UK. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of you. May you know the presence and blessing of Jesus, the Risen One, this Easter. With love, Sarah See also | ||
