All Saints' visionWhat do we believe are the priorities to which God is calling us? Serving the local communityWe are a local church and we are called primarily to serve the people of Marple. We are called to make known in word and deed the Good News that God has demonstrated his commitment to all people by coming to earth as a human being to seek out those who had lost their way with him. That through his death on the Cross he offers forgiveness to those who turn to him and healing and freedom to those who are physically and emotionally wounded. We are called to be a living sign of the presence and power of God in this place as we seek to love others as He has loved us. Equipping people for life and serviceLike the Apostle Paul, our aim is to ‘present all people mature in Christ’. In addition to the personal spiritual formation which takes place through our cell groups, we aim to provide opportunities for growth and development through a variety of teaching courses which we run at regular intervals. Some are designed to help people discover their specific calling and to find their proper place of service in the church and the world, others are designed to hone leadership and ministry skills, whilst others aim to equip people to be more faithful and effective in different life situations. Resourcing the wider churchWe are grateful to God for the ways in which he has blessed us and entrusted to us many human and other resources. We believe that a significant part of our call is to be a resource to the wider church. Many of us are heavily involved in resourcing the annual Northern New Wine summer conference and other regional events aimed at building up local churches. We are always looking for opportunities to send out people to assist other local churches in developing ministry. Partnership with the world churchWe are enriched by our close relationships with the church in many diverse parts of the world. As well as supporting a number of long-term mission partners in several continents, some of whom have gone out from our own church, we have a particular relationship with the Anglican church in Uganda and regularly send out ministry teams to work with the Ugandan church in mission and leadership training. Our prayer is always that God would raise up from amongst us many more people to serve Him in full-time ministry at home and overseas. See also | ||
