Wedding serviceFrom Old Testament records we learn that the wedding ceremony has been popular for over 4000 years, marking the point in time when two people choose to live together and have a family. Today’s ceremony may be very different from that of the ancient people of Israel but we pray that God will still bless the couples that get married in our church. All Saints’ is a traditional Victorian church, built in 1880, but with the original pews replaced by comfortable chairs and with improved lighting and heating systems. The ceremony itself takes place at the chancel steps. Some couples take Communion at the Communion table at the far end of the chancel. ![]() The photo below shows the vestry room where the Registers are signed. The double doors in the photo lead into the main church at the front. ![]() PhotographsPhotographs may be taken during the signing of the Registers and afterwards as you come down the aisle but not during the service itself. Video tapesAll Saints’ Church holds a Copyright and Performing Rights license so that video tapes and other recordings can be made and we ask you to contribute £25 to the cost of this license. ConfettiPlease feel free to throw as much confetti as you like if you can find the type that biodegrades within two days (and let us know where you bought it from because we haven’t found any so far). Otherwise just ask the best man and ushers to keep it within manageable levels. You might like to save some confetti to sprinkle in the groom’s shoes just before your first wedding anniversary… in case he forgets. See also | ||
